The Bowral District Children’s Foundation once again brought the community together for one of the most anticipated Southern Highlands events of the year, the Bowral Long Lunch 2026.
Set against a beautiful Highlands backdrop, the day was a true celebration of community, connection and fundraising for children’s health and wellbeing. Guests enjoyed incredible food, lively conversation and a shared commitment to making a difference for local families.
At the heart of this year’s event was an important cause. All funds raised will support a Paediatric Clinical Coordinator position at Bowral Hospital, a vital initiative aimed at improving access to care for children and reducing the current 9–12 month wait times for non-urgent paediatric services in the Southern Highlands.
We were honoured to hear from Dr Richard Hart, who spoke passionately about the challenges facing local families and the transformative impact this new role will have. His long-standing advocacy and vision have been instrumental in bringing this initiative to life, and we are incredibly grateful for his ongoing dedication to our community.
The day was brought to life by the energy and talent of our hosts, with Stu Davies and Hugh Hanrahan delivering an engaging and memorable experience that kept the crowd entertained and the fundraising momentum strong.
A special highlight was the live art auction, featuring works generously created and donated by talented local artists, including Jacqui Brown, Leanne Booth, Corinne Dany, Moe, Elizabeth Burton and Dave Thomas, a true reflection of the creativity and generosity within the Southern Highlands community.
We also extend our thanks to Rachel Ware for beautifully capturing the spirit of the day, and to our incredible BDCF committee members, whose tireless volunteer efforts make events like this possible. Their dedication continues to drive meaningful impact across our region.
And of course, a heartfelt acknowledgement to our President, Skye Leicester, whose passion and leadership continue to inspire and guide the foundation’s work supporting local children, young people and families.
The Bowral Long Lunch is more than just a day out, it’s a powerful example of what can be achieved through local support, collaboration and a shared commitment to children’s wellbeing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated and supported this year’s event. Together, we are creating lasting change in the Southern Highlands.
